- Asymmetry: Both sides should be the same when divided into half
- Border: Border of mole should be even
- Colour: Single colour and should not have a variety colour especially red or blue
- Diameter: Less than 0.6cm in diameter are usually benign. If it increases in size, cancerous changes maybe suspected.
- Evolving or Elevation: if previously the mole is flat but now raised, or if there is bleeding, crusting, pain, itching, these should be checked out.
Treatment available for mole removal are surgical removal, lasers and chemical peels.
